Motion to Adjourn

Minutes for Lake Lodge meeting April 17, 2003

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Vice Pres. Vose. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Vice Pres. Vose welcomed guests.

Motion to waive the reading of the minutes made by Bro. Gleason, with second by Bro. Steckenrider, was passed.

Roll call of officers was taken. Present were Pres. Long, Vice Pres. Vose, Sec. Baughman, and Tres. Knowski. Sgt. at Arms Walker was absent due to illness. A quorum of officers and membership was established.

I. Officer’s Reports

A. Pres. Long – No report
B. Vice Pres. Vose – No report
C. Sec. Baughman – No report
D. Tres. Knowski – Current budget figures were read by Tres. Knowski.
E. Sgt. at Arms Walker – Absent

II. Committee Reports

A. Building Committee – Bro. Sim was absent
B. By-Law Committee – No report
C. Entertainment Committee – Sis. Edwards reported that the calendar was up to date and that flyers had been sent out.
D. Lake Council – No report
E. Grounds Committee – Bro. Steckenrider noted that clean-up day was scheduled for April 19, 2003 at 9:30 a.m.
F. Boat Dock Committee - Bro. Trijillo is still collecting bids for new docks. The old docks are in need of replacement. Once all bids are received and one is accepted the new docks can be installed within three weeks. By removing the old docks ourselves, the Lake Lodge can save $900.00.
G. Chicken Fry Committee – Vice Pres. Vose had the following report:

1. The next chicken fry meeting is May 6th, 2003 at 7:00 p.m.
2. The committee is still looking at bands.
3. The 50/50 tickets are being prepared by the printer.
4. Help is still needed for cooking and the serving line.
H. Bar Committee – Vice Pres. Vose is still looking for a volunteer for Chairperson of this committee.
I. Bro. Bonnett, with second by Bro. Gleason, motioned to approve the committee reports. The motion passed.

III. New Members – Sec. Baughman noted applications for membership from James Hayes, James Williams, and Brian Withers. Bro. Steckenrider, with second by Bro. Prange, moved to accept the membership applications. The motion passed.

IV. Old Business

A. Vice Pres. Vose said the date of the Pre-Fair Party would be June 6, 2003.
B. Vice Pres. Vose stated the accepted bid price of $16,900.00 by Modern Paving to repave the parking lot. Work will begin once there has been several consecutive dry days.
C. Vice Pres. Vose is seeking a volunteer to act as the Alternate Representative to the Lake Council.

V. New Business – No Report

VI. Good of the Order

A. Bro Gleason said May 16, 2003 would be the next dinner at the lodge. The menu includes prime rib, ribeye, and chicken breast. Cost is $10.00 per person. Bro. Gleason expects to hold eight such dinners a year.
B. The family membership cookout will be held June 1, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by the lodge.
C. Lake League Softball will begin April 23, 2003. Our first game will at the Lake Press Club.

VII. Bro. Steckenrider, with second by Bro. Prange, motioned to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed.
